Advocates Support RAP and Supportive Housing at Appropriations Hearings Print E-mail

February 23, 2010 - On February 11, 2010 advocates testified at the Appropriations subcommittee hearing on Human Services urging the subcommittee to make no further cuts to the Housing and Homeless Services line item including the Rental Assistance Program (RAP). The current level of funding is critical. Thank you to Alison Cunningham, Sharon Gowen, Rachael Davis and others who testified.

The following week, advocates testified at the February 18, 2010 Appropriations subcommittee hearing on Health and Hospitals to ask the committee to preserve funding for supportive housing, which was not cut in the Governor’s budget. Of the 4,400 total units of supportive housing currently in Connecticut, 2,600 of which are funded through DMHAS. Thank you to Fran Martin and Suzy Rivera.
