February 9, 2010 - The Corporation for Supportive Housing has prepared a fact sheet explaining the Housing First Pilot, which has been recently launched in Connecticut. The program, which will demonstrate the success of a housing first approach, is providing 20 individuals with immediate rental subsidy and intensive case management services. The individuals have been discharged from inpatient psychiatric hospitals, are identified as "long-term shelter users," or are living on the streets (or other similar places unfit for human habitation). Individuals will be housed in either New Haven or Hartford and case management services will be provided by either Columbus House or Center for Human Development. For more information, read the explainer here.
